CoVianna YoungModeratorHi Sarah,
Can you check your audio submission for Wk7 please? Did you accidentally re-submit the first version? I ask because the Moon Yogas method was not kept to and I know you did understand how to do it.

Sarah WeismanParticipantCoVianna, I re-recorded the Clint Eastwood reading a little bit, (no sentence about the Ascendant, for example). Is it OK, now?

CoVianna YoungModeratorHey Sarah,
Did you go in and check what you said in the recording? When you listen to it, you will see why I wondered if you accidentally re-submitted your first version.

hamilton.yogaParticipantHello Covianna!
Thank you for this wonderful feedback! I apologize life has taken me away from my studies.
Part of my issue is feeling pressured to get this done and not having the time to do it. I will slow down and apply more structure as you suggest. It IS all over the place 🙂
I will have to back track and re-apply myself this week. I will shoot for submitting homework again soon. I will resubmit the harmonics homework. Cheers, Laura

CoVianna YoungModeratorDear Students,
Just a comment on students re- submitting their homework after feed back from me.
If I suggest to you that you might like to re-do the homework, this is not an admonishment nor a reproval of you. It’s a suggestion, from my heart, that it would be wise for you to re tackle the techniques so that you can accurately use them. As Level 2 students, I see many of you being Sadasiva’s leaders taking this work and light out in to the world and as such, it is very high on my values list that this work is undertaken accurately, and we can teach others how to do it accurately as Sadasiva has taught us.
To give feed back again to you, is extra work for me and I am happy to give it, to support you all being high quality graduates. This feedback does not count to your final marks, so don’t be anxious about that. Make sure that you read what the homework is requiring and that you give time to revise the class before submitting – and check your recordings that they have come through properly and that they follow the techniques taught. For those who have undertaken to re-submit, I do admire your diligence. Well done!

CoVianna YoungModeratorDear Students,
As there has been some confusion demonstrated with the Moon Yogas Techniques including in past years of Level 2, I’m going to write a few points of clarification here. So for those of you who have yet to submit your Moon Yogas Homework, refer back to this prior to submitting, and for those who have submitted, cross check for yourselves, that what you have submitted matches these points of clarity.
- It is based on the Signs. So we are looking at: The Sign before the Moon – 12th Sign before the Moon; the Sign the Moon is in – 1st Sign; the Sign after the Moon – 2nd Sign.
- We also look at the Signs at angles from the Moon, especially when there is a Kemadruma Yoga, as support.
- So the 1st angle from the Moon is the 4th Sign from the Moon – relating to support coming from introspection.
- The 2nd angle from the Moon is the 7th Sign from the Moon – relating to support coming from partners.
- The 3rd angle from the Moon is the 10th Sign from the Moon – relating to support coming from duties.
- Emotional Process: before, during, after.
- Structure of psychological support: angles from the Moon.
- Moon Yogas can be applied to Western Astrology as well as Vedic Astrology. -“This allows you to hone in on what is driving someone psychologically”. Using Vedic Astrology “…then, in fact, the NEXT most important factor is the Functional Status of the planet and what it does as a House Ruler…because then you will see the exact back story.” (from Forum post #15541).
- Sadasiva notes at 6min43secs into class video: “that we discuss the Planets involved with the Moon (before, with and after) as Karakas as that is the way the person will experience the emotion primarily. But of course Vedic Astrology wise, these planets are also House Rulers. Same deal with the planets in the support angles from the Moon.”.
- @ 50mins58secs into class video: Sadasiva says “Mars aspecting the Moon 10th [Sign] / 3rd angle from the Moon is another aspect of intensity”. @ 52mins58secs he says “Look at the prominent Aspects to the Moon especially if the Moon is by itself”. So Diane you were correct with including the Mars aspect as a Moon Yoga Technique. I was incorrect to write that it was extraneous to the method.
- @ 1hr06min43secs into class video: Sadasiva says “The Nodes don’t count as part of this process, but, their influence on a planet there is going to count’. He also mentions if Ketu [or Rahu] is with the Moon that is definitely going to count.
- It’s when the node is by itself in the Sign before, after, and/or, in an angle, that we omit Rahu and Ketu from this process.
- We do not apply the Moon Yoga Techniques to the Harmonic/Varga Charts. Yes, the Class Manual does say “These techniques can be applied to any chart because they are related to planets in absolute space” so, if you don’t have a birth time for example, or looking at a Western Chart, for example, then the Moon Yogas are very useful to assessing the person’s deep psychology. Please note: Harmonic charts are a Mathematical Harmonic – not based on the Astronomy, that is: planets in absolute space . So we don’t use D9 Navamsha, D10 Dashamsha, etc.
- Remember that Moon Yogas are a stand alone technique apart from what we have been learning in the previous classes, so don’t go including them in your Moon Yogas Homework submission.
I trust this has brought clarity for you all, you wonderful diligent students!

Janel JosephParticipantCoVianna,
I completely appreciate all of your feedback. The good news is because of your feedback, I understand how to say things and now I need to practice saying it correctly. I have slowed down because I needed to go back to level 1 and review transits, combustion, aspects and really understand how everything is positioned in the sky so I get it before I start talking. Thank you so much as I knew when I did HW1 three times what a gift your feedback is!!! It truly helped me really get it so thank you.

CoVianna YoungModeratorSome more feedback on homework submissions,
Kyle Geminden: Hwk 3 Mini-Career – Yay ,Kyle – you have slowed the speed of the reading really nicely – well done. I liked your explanation of the Karakas – Sun and Saturn. Remember to bring in a capacity for hard work as 10th House ruler Jupiter is in the 6th House and Sun is ruler of the 6th house. Also mention how SaR ruling the 11th and 12th houses affects those 2nd House values. This was a clear and easy to follow reading and you kept to the Template. Great work Kyle!

Kyle GemindenParticipantHi CoVianna,
Thanks for your feedback! I went ahead and made those updates and resubmitted the file.
July 17, 2020 at 1:55 pm #15465
CoVianna YoungModeratorHey Kyle,
I had a listen to your resubmitted version of Hwk 3 – Great work! I look forward to giving you feedback on your next recorded assignment – its a pleasure to listen to you.

CoVianna YoungModeratorSome more feedback on recorded Homework submissions,
Laura Hamilton: Hwk Moon Yogas Clint Eastwood – thank you Laura for your submission. So you noted that Jupiter and Venus are involved in the emotional process before the Moon. These are what his Moon wants to receive in life. So discuss them as Karakas, then as house rulers. You forgot to talk about any planets in angles from the Moon as ‘supports’ to the Moon. Remember in the ‘Moon Yogas Techniques’ summary in a forum post above, Sadasiva makes note of Mars aspecting the Moon 10th (sign)/ 3rd angle from the Moon as another aspect of intensity. That 3rd angle of support is related to duties. So Clint Eastwood has this. Mars needs to be discussed, (as a Karaka and he rules 2/7th houses) in a way that ‘supports’ the Moon in relation to duties. That Mars also aspects the Moon from that 3rd angle placement, so the Moon is always feeling that Mars energy glancing at it. You could explain how that glance is felt by the Moon. Keep up your endeavours Laura – I’m pleased you made the effort to submit a recording!

hamilton.yogaParticipantThank you for this expansion. I am printing these to put on my board as reminders.
I will be spending time this week researching charts and their moon yogas as well as researching tithis. I would like more practice with moon yogas. Would you be willing to assess another go CoVianna on a different chart?
Much appreciated. Laura

hamilton.yogaParticipantI am sorry I missed the above post clarifying moon yogas. The number of the post seems to take time to populate, or simply doesn’t. So when you have me that as a reference earlier I wasn’t sure how to track the number.
If I am on a laptop or tablet seems to make a big difference too. I will take the above post and use it as a template for a few more charts on moon yogas. 🙏😄
July 28, 2020 at 4:04 am #15534
CoVianna YoungModeratorHi Laura,
You asked if I was willing to assess another go but on a different chart, to support you in practicing Moon Yogas. That’s a big YES Laura. I appreciate your diligence and I want students to really understand the techniques to support them being great Jyotishis.
I use an iMac desktop and scrolling over the top right hand corner of the Forum Box makes the #xxxxx post number appear in grey print. I hope that helps.
