    1.  How is Mars like a child?

He has a very simple nature with black and white thinking.  Babies can only scream, there is no complexity.

    2.  How is Mars related to the youngest son of Lord Shiva?

Lord Subramania (as a 5-year-old), had the mental innocence to fight without ego and cunning.  He had this courage because he functioned with such an innocent mind.

    3.  Which guna is “arguing” relative to Mars?

    Rajasic

    4.  Why that guna?

Arguing activates desires which are primarily associated with the rajasic state.

    5.  In your own words, what is the “Anchoring Process” of Mars.

The three levels are the challenge of strengthening the body (Tamas), the challenge of dealing with conflicts which are external to the self (Rajas) and the challenge of maintaining the self-discipline needed to deepen spiritual practices (Sattwa).

    6.  How does Aries express Mars energy?

This can show up as a great deal of physical energy which needs expression in some sort of physical action (athletics, martial arts).  There is a strong tendency to charge ahead without looking where they are going which can get them into trouble or cause accidents.

    7.  How does Scorpio express Mars energy?

Control is a key word for Scorpio, both attempts to control all things/people in their environment and their own selves (physical, mental, emotional); anything to avoid showing their vulnerability.  Everything tends to be very intense and dramatic, and balance must be found to pursue a more spiritual path.

    8.  If the Moon is in Aries, what emotional state would you expect?   (no more than three sentences – 15 points)

As the external manifestation of Mars, Aries has the strong desire to live without boundaries, thus without awareness of consequences.  Moon in Aries will be very impulsive and aware of its desires, which are generally acted on without thinking, but will have difficulty in understanding the impact they have on others.  There is an element of selfishness here which is the very thing that brings emotional unhappiness and suffering for the Moon.

    9.  If the Sun is in Scorpio, what kind of responsibilities would you expect?  (no more than 3 sentences – 15 points)

Sun in Scorpio gives the inclination to look into the mysteries of life, finding (from Mars‘ influence as Scorpio’s ruler) the courage to face its own inner weakness.  While such explorations can go into some very dark areas, the Sun’s light and power bring the ability to transform the personality into one of responsibility and integrity with the ability to face things truthfully.
