    Hi Judith,
You wrote: “I just looked back over my written and recorded reading at 7min 46 sec and I actually said you also have the moon sun and Ketu in the 7th house.”
Silly me – I should have heard that correctly as I know the Sydney accent well! I spent my teenage years in Sydney and attended Mount St. Mary’s College on the Woolwich Peninsula.

Hi Covianna, thank you so much for all of your feedback! Your writeup of Ernest Hemingway was very interesting… It was surprising to me about his macho persona given that both feminine planets are joined the nodes, though he does have a Leo ascendant with Mars in the ascendant. The background you gave brings more depth to the picture. And yikes, I dunno how I got mixed up with Mars and Mercury in the ninth but thank you for pointing that out.

Regarding the Clint Eastwood assignment, I guess I got a little confused because it came under the panchanga module, so I assumed that we were supposed to also be integrating that information. And I guess I felt a little confused about the boundaries around the moon yogas technique in general because I wasn’t even sure if house rulerships was technically supposed to be a part of it. I also actually didn’t know very much about Clint Eastwood either, I read up on him a little bit but I’m not even sure if I’ve seen any of his films. Thank you for your feedback though, it’s very helpful!

And for the transits homework, I’m so sorry, I don’t know why it cut out like that because I recorded it the same way as I’ve done many other recordings and it has never done that before. Thank you for pointing that out, I’ll be sure to double check the recording for the final. I recorded a new version that I posted to dropbox, labeled V2. I tried to speak more slowly and clearly this time, I almost feel like I’m moving in slow-motion, haha! Hopefully it is better though; when you have time I would love your feedback.

    Hi Sebastian,
    Here is some more feedback,

Sebastian Urrea – Re-Do of Hwk 4 Sky Transits: Once again excellent synthesis Sebastian. I like that you discussed that Saturn aspect to the Ascendant to support your clear description of how the person expresses this lifetime. Also that you discussed that Venus Vipareet Raj Yoga of the 6th House Lord Venus in the 12th house, in order to extend that description.

Your Moon discussion was excellent and in depth. With the Lunar Nodes – just a subtle thing: It’s better to say”Rahu in the 5th house in the sign of Virgo” rather than “Rahu in the 5th house of Virgo”. Ditto for Ketu: rather than “Ketu in the the house of Pisces” it’s better to say “Ketu in the 11th house in the sign of Pisces”. Otherwise a good discussion.

It’s great that you stated the importance of the aspects from Jupiter, Saturn and Mars all onto the 10th House. Note that the Mars aspect to the 10th house is from an eight houses aspect, so the potential relates to transformation.

It was good to state the date of the Transits. Remember to refer to Saturn putting pressure on that 9th House by sky transit.

Great work Sebastian and your slower speed of delivery worked beautifully for the person hearing this reading. Your counselling capacity would be a valued and helpful quality that your clients’ receive – it is so rich and in depth.

Here is some more recorded homework feedback:

Daniel Turk – Hwk 5 Harmonics: Your assessment of the ratios using the the Rasi chart was well done, and as Sadasiva spoke to ‘as being above the other ones’. However, the homework task also required you to use the template on the D9 Harmonic and the D10 Harmonic for a deeper assessment and to help support any congruencies discussed for the Rasi chart. In other words, you do need to look at the D9 and D10 Harmonics to check for congruence with the ratio you have seen from your assessment of the Rasi chart. Is that D10 Harmonic congruent with your ratio assessment of 45% ? If yes, explain how that is so. Look at the D9 Harmonic – is it congruent with your ratio assessment of 25%? If yes, explain how that is so. And yes when doing a reading like this you do go on to assess the activated Dasas. However that was not required for this homework task – just the assessment utilising the Template for the D1, D9 and D10. I wish you every success with your readings Daniel, you have been so diligent with your studies.

Sebastian Urrea – Hwk 5 Harmonics: You’ve correctly assessed first, the ratios in the Rasi chart, as the Rasi chart is above all the other ones, and you kept to the Template of the 5 points. You spoke to the congruencies through out the 3 Harmonic charts to give weight to your chosen ratios. And it was good mentioning that Saturn aspect to the first house in the Rasi chart. Overall another excellent offering Sebastian. I can see you in the near future being very successful with your endeavours as a Jyotishi providing deep understanding to your clients.

Here is some more recorded homework feedback:

Judith Flick – Hwk 3 Mini-Career reading: Hi Judith, I’m suggesting you have a go at doing this again – only if you want to. And I’m happy to give feedback if you do. This reading was a bit all over the place, including calling signs, planets again – which prompts me to ask to ask if you are writing this up fully first, then reading/recording your script? Or are you trying to read what you see in the chart, cold? It can take a lot of practice writing it up fully before you are ready to read the chart off the cuff. Your hesitancy and not sounding confident and mixing up planet and signs is speaking to this possibility. It took me a long time of writing a up Reading in detail first, and also listening to Sadasiva a lot before I could confidently speak, without preparation, to what I was seeing in a chart.

Please don’t see this as negative criticism, rather see it as being supportive of you to be a confident Jyotishi. Here are some pointers on how to approach this homework 3:

Briefly mention the Ascendant sign, it’s ruler and where that ruler is placed, and any planets in that first house.

Then go on to Section 1, where you will discuss briefly what the three Karakas/indicators are for career that apply to everyone as shown in the Rasi chart. There is a 4th Karaka/indicator – the D10 Harmonic chart which will not be discussed in this short reading.

Karaka 1 – briefly discuss the planet indicators for career (Saturn and Sun) including their qualities as they relate to career.

Karaka 2 – briefly explain what the 10th house ruler shows for everyone in that it is how we experience the lessons of Saturn and Sun; noting that what affects the 10th house ruler tends to affect how our careers unfold (leave the detail of that for this individual until Section 3).

Karaka 3 – briefly explain what looking at the 10th house shows us for everyone, in that it is the strength of career support in their lives. Such as, the ability to handle pressure and take on public responsibility. So planets in that 10th house for everyone (if there), will further their career experience (leave the detail of that for this individual until Section 3).

Now onto Section 2: Give a quick overview of this person as it relates to their career. That’s the first house itself and where does the ruler of that Sign of the 1st House lands in their chart – which House, which Sign, if joined any planets – which shows that planet’s expression and feeling.

Now onto Section 3: For each  those 3 Karakas/indicators (which in Section 1 you referred to in general as common for everyone) –  you will  now assess in detail for this individual’s chart as they relate to career. You will be assessing what is affecting the Karakas/indicators.

I hope this helps guide you so that your readings will be clear for your future clients. Keep up your diligent efforts Judith. I’m so pleased that you are taking the opportunity to post homework recordings.

    Hi Judith,

That’s great to redo. Problem though is I can’t open the file. It’s a 1KB file Winebottler. The others are in as MP3 Audio files that are about 15 or 16 MB. Can you input to Dropbox in your usual format please Judith? And you can add “Re-do” to the Label 🙂 .

    Hi Judith,

Here is feedback on your re-do of Hwk 3,

Judith Flick – Hwk 3 Mini-Career reading Re-do: YES this is an excellent reading Judith. Your confidence has grown too. Your analysis in section 3 is excellent and your explanations for the client are very clear for them throughout your reading. That aspect of Jupiter onto the 10th house could have been opened up a little which would include mentioning that it is giving a 5th house aspect (Dharmic) from a placement in the 6th house of hard work, financial expenditure, health and disease. Keep that sort of thing in mind for future reading.

I’m so pleased for you to have gone that extra distance and put in the work of this re-do, as I can hear you have come ahead in leaps and bounds. Well done – keep up those great efforts and you will make a fine Jyotishi.

    Hi Judith,

Only do the one recording Judith and that will be on the chart provided.

Apologies not getting back to you straight away, I’m having connection  and speed problems with OptusNBN. I’ve only just got things working again but very tenuous.

I look forward to listening to your homework and giving you feedback.

    Hi Judith,

Yes just caught site of the dropbox email as it landed. I have been thinking of you in lockdown and wondering how you were going. Our Victorian lockdown caused some difficulties for me accessing needed stores when a time factor mattered. Challenging times with the transits – I’m looking forward to listening to your recording when I’m free later this evening.

    Hi Judith,

Here is your feedback on Homework 4.

Judith Flick – Hwk 4 Transits: Your detailed analysis of each planet in each sign was thorough but not required for this homework task. Just a pointer about aspects – 7th house aspects and the special aspects of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, – and that pointer is: if they are aspecting an empty house then their effects are not considered unless they are aspecting a planet there. And it’s perfectly fine to do a reading in the way you approached this one for a client.

However, the task required using the Template and thus the Transits discussion required was using Saturn, Jupiter and the Nodes. It was good that you mentioned the very recent eclipses though, as that would matter for a client reading made at eclipse time. It’s good to discuss the aspects that Saturn Transit and Jupiter Transit cast on the birth chart. Remember though that if they are aspecting a planet, rather than an empty house, then that aspect is discussed. Also remember in that discussion to refer to the aspect type i.e.: is it a 3rd house aspect? Then it’s a 3rd house theme affecting the planet aspected with that Saturn pressure. Is it a 5th house aspect? Then it’s a 5th house theme affecting the planet aspected with that Jupiter growth and optimism.

Just a little pointer regarding completing the reading: – your recording had an abrupt ending with a lot of paper noise – it would be best to give a formal sense of completion of the reading as a practice for a client reading. In this task, such as: ‘And that completes the Transits reading of this chart.’

You made a great effort Judith, just a pity about not following the Template. You are welcome to give it another go if you like – up to you.

    Onwards and Upwards – CoVianna.
