    Hey Sebastian,

You are welcome to do a re-do if you like. I’m up for supporting students into being the best Jyotishis that they can be. Doing readings is such an important service that Sadasiva’s students can bring to humans at this time and I can see you making a real difference to many peoples’ understanding of themselves and ability to express at higher resonances.

I’ve noted that you’ve signed up for the Conference, and I have too. You will find each of Sadasiva’s past students on the Conference Faculty to be very inspiring – they certainly inspire me! I’m really looking forward to it.

Thank you CoVianna. I just uploaded a new version of assignment 2 with corrections based on your feedback. I think it is much improved now! I also just uploaded assignment 3. Looking forward to your feedback, I am finding this process very helpful.

I am looking forward to the conference! I don’t think that I am going to be able to attend it live unfortunately but I am very glad that we’ll be able to get a recording and I’m sure I’ll learn a ton. It will be great to hear from the alumni and see some different perspectives and how they’ve evolved what they’ve learned with Sam.

    Hi Sebastian,

    Here is your feedback:

Sebastian Urrea – Hwk 2 Re-do Mini-Relationships: – Remember to slow down the pace of your readings so that the client has time to integrate. Much, much better using the Template. I loved your analysis in the quick overview of the person (Section 2) – great counselling here too!

Excellent work Sebastian – a wonderful depth of analysis is being presented consistently throughout the reading. Lucky clients to get the depth of analysis and counselling from you in future readings  🙂 .

Sebastian Urrea – Hwk 3 Mini-Career Reading: – Remember to work on slowing the pace of the presentation.

Once again excellent work Sebastian. I liked the points you made in Section 3 about SaturnR and his degrees in Aries. Again, you have presented a wonderful depth of analysis consistently, and sound counselling. You are demonstrating a rich synthesis of the multiple factors that can be taken into account with each planet discussed. Well done you!

Right now in Australia  we are in a political turmoil. Our Attorney General (Christian Porter) has been accused of a historical rape of a young lass who was a team member in a School Debating competition held in Sydney University at the time of the alleged event (January 10th, 1988) She was 16 and he 17.  The lady died last year before finalising her report to the N.S.W Police (their jurisdiction where the alleged event occurred) and so they have closed the case. However, a South Australian coronial enquiry into her death (State where she died) reported as a suicide, is likely to go ahead. I’ve looked into his birth chart (though a birth time is not publicly known) and he has Saturn in Nakshatra Bharani – in Aries. Hence my interest in your SaturnR discussion.

His birth details, in case you may be interested in looking at this chart, are: 11 July 1970, Perth, Western Australia. I’ve looked at him having a Magha Ascendant in Leo (with a potential birth time of 9.40am) His Wikipedia page has been reported as having been recently overhauled. It did have some good dates for events in his life.

Australian women are intently watching the current “Me Too” rising within our Parliamentary “Canberra Bubble” and in the main, are greatly troubled by our Prime Minister’s response to a number of allegations being raised (relating to other alleged male offenders) in what is being called a ‘toxic workplace”. Watch that space as new information hits the headlines daily!

I’m looking forward to hearing your discussion in your Hwk 4 Transits. Keep up the great efforts Sebastian!

Thank you CoVianna, I really appreciate your time to listen to the recordings and give feedback. It’s really valuable and helping me a lot. I’ve uploaded both homework 4 and 5 now and I’m looking forward to hearing what you have to say.

I will say that I spend quite a bit of time putting together an analysis before I actually make the recording. For homework 4 it was probably around 3 hours, and for homework 5 it was maybe around 2 or a bit less. I learn a lot by really digging in and I think I end up with a pretty good assessment by the end, but I kind of worry that it won’t be sustainable if I actually want to do readings for a living, ha! Does that seem normal to you? I am getting faster and better as I do more and more of them so I assume it’s just part of practicing, but I don’t have much context for what is normal so interesting in hearing your take.

    Hi CoVianna,

please excuse my late reply but thanks so much for your feedback of my first recording.Unfortunately I have been really distracted with work and other personal stuff in my world and have found it hard to focus on my study over the last month .But I want to get back on track this week so hopefully I will get another recording to you soon.I was wondering why I was moving slower than last year through the modules and then I remembered that when I started the course last year I had just lost my job due to COVID and now I am working full time.Ha Ha sometimes i wish I could just put myself in Lockdown to give me more free hours in the day.

    Thanks again

    Hi Judith,

I’m so pleased that you checked in with me – I was wondering. Don’t fret, when you can get it done and submitted will be perfect timing. I do understand.

Hi CoVianna, just checking in. I’ve made several more recordings that I have uploaded to the dropbox folder. I’ve also made a post with a written analysis of Hemingway’s chart in the other thread, and I tried to post my relationship analysis but ran into some trouble. Let me know how things are going and if there’s anything I can do with the relationship assignment when you get a chance. Thank you!

    Hi Sebastian,

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Just as you posted I was involved in driving my daughter to look at homes to rent as she does not have a working car. There was very little on the market, some were absolute dives, disgusting! What a shock. So there has been quite bit of stress involved and a lot of traveling for me with chronic fatigue. She and her housemate had to leave because that lovely well built home is due for demolition any day and they were on a tight time schedule to find something and move asap. I have also been involved in helping them move – what a mammoth task for us all, including working under the moonlight until 4am a couple of nights. As well, being up at 4am three days in a row for the “Next Generation Vedic Astrology Conference” really messed with my physiology causing considerable imbalance for days. And wow! was that worth it – a great Conference. I’ve just had a few days resting, getting over it all and feeling settled now that I know my daughter is safe and sound though exhausted 🙂 . Now my brain is once again able to function and working on Vedic Forums. I will give you feedback on the recordings over the next day or so, and responding to you now to let you know why the delay and respond to your Forum Questions.

Yes Sebastian, it does take time putting it together and of course less for the shorter readings. The more you work on charts, the background knowledge begins to be second nature and flows more quickly. Writing it up first and then recording or doing a live zoom with a client and sharing your screen, does take extra time. When you are counselling a regular client, that session takes less preparation as you will become familiar with their chart and their nature and the wisdom will just flow off your tongue in the session. You will be surprised at what you just know. Casey Scott mentioned in his discourse on the Conference, how he works with regular clients. I do a lot of research of charts, rather than face to face work and have skills in rectifying birth times. Currently I am researching Australian Federal Politicians because of the “Canberra Bubble” sexual allegations and behaviour within the “Boys Club”. I am surprised at the number of Debilitated Mars showing up in charts as well. The Attorney General’s chart was interesting, he has now been moved to a different Portfolio and a female Attorney General is now in place. Amazingly, their charts are similar, both being born in Perth within a week of each other. His debilitated Saturn is in Bharani (potential sexual misconduct – overstepping boundaries and consequences). Her debilitated Saturn in Krittika. Both demonstrate cold punishing anger and she would carve you up. Both have debilitated Mars, with different Moon placements of course and most likely different Ascendants or not. Both have Venus in Magha and consider themselves entitled to their privileged Private School upbringings and lifestyle. And both have Ketu with Venus. Both are tall and slim. Interestingly, both the previous Opposition Leader and current Opposition Leader have debilitated Mars. More to discover and loving it!

Sebastian, I followed your recommendation for copy and pasting to the ‘Text’ box first then turning on the ‘Visual’ box and that has been successful for me – so thanks so much for that advice. I’m assuming you were posting the pdf’s and charts into the ‘Text’ Box? So you are more ‘techy’ by far than me. May I suggest you put a query into the ‘Help Desk’ and see how that goes. Keep me posted.

I don’t give feedback on the written Homework except Hemingway’s Moon Yogas and feedback on the recordings. However, students can discuss with each other as far as I understand, with the remainder of the classes.

    Hi Sebastian,

Here is some feedback for you.

Sebastian Urrea – Hwk 6 Ernest Hemingway: This is a good analysis, however, you’ve written about Mars and Mercury being in Hemingway’s 10th house from the Moon when they are in the 9th House from his Moon. So he is only receiving support in  7th House ways. That Venus there is with Ketu, so it definitely counts. He would have a sense of knowing well how Venus interactions work though still having a blind spot there with the Ketu Karmic knot. This could, in his case, be a judgemental reaction to females and flipping them when he sees them not coming up to the standards his Ketu insists on.

You could mention that SaturnR rules the 6th House and 7th House in his chart though you did indeed mention those qualities in your analysis. Saturn can also be punishing and cruel in a lower expression, hence the cruelty involved in bull fighting and hunting.

There is something I found interesting in researching Hemingway when I did this assignment (I too, knew little about him nor read any of his books). I hope you will indulge me in sharing what I found though a little long winded. The Moon is how we feel about ourselves and colours how we feel about others. As it also refers to our childhood and the part of us that is most impressionable and innocent – we can see how strongly that Saturn Retrograde abuse by authority was running his internal emotional environment particularly as it is in the 12th sign from his Moon.

Let me explain: Until the age of six years (considered the most formative), Hemingway’s mother dressed him as a girl with curls – and his sister as a boy with cropped hair. This set up an intense hatred of his mother, even though she gave him quality time as an older boy when taking just him on holidays to Nantucket Sound. Here, Hemingway gravitated toward Macho Male adult figures to emulate – Venus/Ketu seven houses from the Moon. Though not part of Moon Yogas analysis, it is interesting to note that from birth to this period he had Venus MahaDasa activating his Karma. He enters Sun MahaDasa just as he begins High School.

While I can’t comment on the content of his books (haven’t read any) he was known for his writing style as you mentioned; which was using short sentences, short first paragraphs and vigorous English which I see as demonstrating the Saturn boundaries and determination to be influencing the writing style of his time. All this time he was being the Macho Male attempting to slough off the childhood imprinted female persona, being known for his hunting exploits from teenage years into adulthood, killing lots of big game, coming back from several aeroplane crashes and being able to influence the males of his generation (because of his writing success) of his strong external male persona. I feel that ‘persona’ is partly driven by his Sun in the 12th house of his Rasi in Feminine Cancer, conflicting with that Ketu expectation of the male/female behaviours in Venus relationships.

The problem was though, that children will often express what the parent represses. And Ernest’s son Gregory was caught at age 10 cross-dressing  in his step-mothers silk stockings and dress. Gregory as an adult was calling himself Gloria in private and even had gender re-assignment surgery later in his life. But an incident in 1951, I believe, triggered the depression that eventually took Ernest to commit suicide. Ernest had great conflict with his son over cross-dressing as it flew in the face of the elder Hemingway’s drive of being Macho, a man who got what he wanted, the biggest Game, the prettiest wife. Gregory had got into trouble with the law, and Ernest’s Moon/Rahu lashed out viciously at his ex: Pauline Pfeiffer (Gregory’s mother) blaming her for their son’s cross-dressing expression. The stress caused a deadly surge of Adrenaline in her, and, as she had an undiagnosed rare adrenal tumour – she was dead within hours. Ernest blamed young Gregory for his mother’s death, traumatising the son who never saw his father again.

But this internal uneasiness and inability to integrate the emotions into the heart (no planets in the second house from the Moon), I believe was behind Ernest’s alcoholism and depression. It took Gregory ten years (late 1960) to pen a bitter letter to his father, presenting the medical details (Gregory was now an MD) and blaming Ernest for Gregory’s mother’s untimely death. I feel this tipped Ernest over the edge, and at the same time, the Cuban crisis meant he had to leave Cuba, and his home “Finca Vigia” was taken possession of by the Cuban Government.

And so July 2nd, 1961 the internally emotionally defeated and thoroughly depressed Ernest Hemingway took a shotgun and used it very effectively on himself. Though not part of a Moon Yogas commentary, the Dasa’s also show this.

Here is some more feedback on Moon Yogas Homework,

Daniel Turk – Hwk 6 Ernest Hemingway Moon Yogas: Firstly Daniel, my sincere apologies for this late feedback. A good assessment of the Moon Yogas, Daniel. You can open up on Saturn as a House Ruler too, giving richness to his back story.

I found it interesting to see that his Moon is the 12th House Ruler of his Rasi Chart, showing a disconnect with his mother, and, that Saturn is Retrograde which can be experienced as abuse by authority. She cross dressed Ernest and his sister as young children. So I saw in my bio-research of him how that SaturnR ruling the 6th and 7th houses of his Rasi chart, and being the planet of receiving, was deeply problematic for him when feeling his Moon energy which was joined confusing Rahu.

Then, when it came to connection with his own child Gregory (Moon is in the 5th house with Rahu), Gregory was tinged with abuse from Ernest, creating a disconnection with Gregory when explosively blaming Gregory’s mother for Gregory (Gloria’s) cross dressing expressions. This resulted in a disconnection with Gregory’s mother (Pauline Pfeiffer) through her death as a direct result of that explosive accusation.

Sebastian Urrea – Hwk 7 Clint Eastwood Moon Yogas: When Sadasiva gave the instruction on Ernest Hemingway homework of “Just talk about the Moon Yogas, not houses and signs etc.,” he was referring to how you approached this homework. So Sebastian, remember here to discuss only Moon Yogas as a stand alone technique. From 4 minutes into your recording, your assessment of the Moon Yogas was good. The beginning and end bits (on Panchangas) were extraneous to this task 🙂 .

Note that the planets in any angle for the Moon aren’t about processing emotions. Look for how they support i.e.: the Tenth angle form the Moon relates to support coming from Duties. Mars is action oriented and warrior like and will do what makes him strong even though it’s painful or hurts. think about the characters he plays in his movie roles. Because it is also joined a node, in this case Rahu, that is to be considered. Opening up on that adds richness to the context and understanding of the person. This is also the area that discussion can go further on the functional status of Mars and what he does as a house ruler. Another point to note in this instance is that Mars is aspecting his Moon, especially as his Moon is by itself in its Sign.

Sebastian, make sure you read through the Post I’ve made in the Forum Topic “Moon Yogas Written Homework – Hemingway”- you will find it helpful. It was first posted a while back in the Forum Topic “Doing Readings Questions & Discussions”.

More Student feedback on Recorded Homework,

Judith Flick – Hwk 2 Mini-Relationships Reading: You gave a good explanation of the 3  Karakas and what the 9th Harmonic is about. Remember to analyse where that 1st House Ruler (in this case Jupiter) is placed. In this chart it’s in the 6th House in the environment of the Sign of Leo and it’s with another planet there.

I don’t know if it was due to nervousness Judith, I noticed a bit of confusion stating planets, signs and houses accurately. You said “But as Venus as a benefic and a rajasic sign in it’s own house shows…” – be careful not to cause confusion here. Venus is a benefic and a rajasic planet in it’s own sign Libra, also of rajasic expression, placed/sitting in the 8th House for this person. You said “Mercury is also sitting in the 8th house. Venus and Mercury are both rajasic signs…”. Remember they are planets not signs 🙂 .

When referring to the qualities of Libra make sure to name the sign as Libra, to be clear that those are not the qualities of the 8th house which you then discussed immediately after.

Looking at the 7th House – you gave a good presentation on what their partner could be like. Though at 7min46 you said “You also have the Moon sign Ketu in your 7th house” – make sure you refer to it as the ‘South Node of the Moon – Ketu’ just as you did correctly a little bit later. As well you referred to the Sun as a sign. Also you said “The Moon…and also represents our mother which is a water sign”. You missed saying ‘the Moon rules the sign, Cancer, which is also a water sign…’.

Judith, when you begin to do readings for people, you will find that they will interrupt you with “What is that?” or “What does that mean?” if those sanskrit terms such as ‘rajasic’ and ‘tamasic’ are accompanied with a brief explanation of what they refer to. You did well in explaining what a “kama” house means, so apply the simple explanation with other terms too. This helps the client to understand their reading especially when re-visiting their recording.

Keep up your good efforts Judith and your confidence will grow with each homework 🙂 .

    Hi Judith,

Ooops – I mis-wrote: I meant to write “if those sanskrit terms are not accompanied with a brief explanation of what they refer to.”

Some more student feedback on Homework recordings.

Sebastian Urrea – Hwk 4 Sky Transits: Once again excellent synthesis Sebastian. I like that you discussed that Saturn aspect to the Ascendant to support your clear description of how the person expresses this lifetime.

Your counselling capacity would be a valued and helpful quality that your clients’ receive – it is so rich and in depth.

Alas, at 14minutes the recording quality declined  where key words and phrases were lost right to the end of the recording. So it was very disappointing not to be able to hear, with any sense of flow, the rest of this homework task which was so promising in the first half. Therefore I’m unable to give feedback for the latter half of the recording. Make sure (before submitting) that, when the time comes, your Certification Exam recorded reading doesn’t have this issue. Sadasiva deals with those by the way.

Note as well that the presentation is still too fast. This is especially important to address, because your readings are very rich with information for the client to take in all at once. A slower pace will facilitate them processing the information as the reading proceeds. Would you like to re-record this Sebastian? I suspect that you were reading from a written script that you can probably access easily.

    Hi CoVianna,

I just looked back over my written and recorded reading at 7min 46 sec and I actually said you also have the moon sun and Ketu in the 7th house.I think maybe at times need to speak slower and clearer, which is another thing I learnt from this and yes I really did mess up my planets and signs big time

    Thanks again Judith
