ESSENCE
In the Vedic Sciences we are all spiritual creatures having a human experience, not the other way around. In the Vedic Sciences this deeper self is called The "Kala Purusha" Kala means "time" and purusha means "essence."  It is the grosser energies of the mind and the the body which are oriented from this deeper Soul nature as a Kala Purusha, an "Essence in Time." These orienting factors are based on our Karma as it is the Kala Purusha which shadows us from lifetime to lifetime. 
 
CHAKRAS   
It was the Purusha which imprinted our Chakras at the end of our last life with the appropriate lessons that we must learn in this one, as we evolve toweard perfection. The Planets in our birth chart show the energies and lessons of our Kala Purusha. 
 
GODDESS KALI
The fearsome form of the Hindu Goddess is known as "Kali," the feminine form of "Kala." In Hindu thought it is the male deities who are the seed principles and the females who are its expression. Thus Kali is the manifest expression of Time.

 
REINCARNA TION
According to dharmic faiths and most occult systems, our consciousness evolves through its repeated experiences through different births, it reincarnates. 
 
SPIRITUAL ALCHEMY
15 Components Of Self
So at the appropriate time, when our karmic factors align with the planetary forces, we re-incarnate so that we may have another go at it in this densest of all forms and awaken from the illusion.
In order for a human being to experience his karma and transcend it The Kala Purusha functions through 16 components, they are:
• 5 elements: (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether)
• 5 organs of action: (genital, anus, feet, hand, vocal organ)
• 5 organs of knowledge: (nose, tongue, eye, skin, ear)    

The mind is the 16th component, which governs these other 15  
 
3 Qualities of Nature 
The 15 material components are conditioned through 3 qualities of nature. The 3 Gunas. Each Guna related to a different Body.
These qualities are:
  • • Darkness, decay and stability
     (Tamas - related to the Physical body)
  • • Passion, motivation and turbulence
     (Rajas - related to thought and emotions – the Astral Body)
  • • Harmony, light and knowledge  
     (Sattwa - related to pure consciousness and the Spiritual Body)
The Moon
First, the remaining 4 elements, then the 5 organs of action, then the 5 organs of  knowledge. This process culminates when the Moon is full and we are functioning with our full level of Prana and with the Cosmic Being fully developed within.
 
After the full Moon day the elements are withdrawn  again in reverse order until the Moon is new again, leaving just consciousness. It is for these reasons that meditation is good on both new and Full Moons. There is either a fully developed Inner being or a negated lower self.  
 
Magic Spells
For love, a simple ceremony is to light a pink candle (a red one if you just want passion) at the same time everyday between the new Moon and the Next Full Moon, then say an incantation like "Bring me the love of my life", while dripping the wax from the candle over an apple.

Who am I  and Why Did I Make This Video?

I am Sam Geppi a Vedic Astrologer and teacher. I am asked questions about Magic, Time and the connections to Lunar Phases so often in astrology readings or classes that I'm teaching. Yet, in the moment I don't have time to sufficiently answer it because it is a very deep question.

People ask in a very casual way,as if such a profound cosmic mystery can be answered while giving an astrology reading. So, rather than take an hour to try to explain it to them (and take up their reading time) I give a very quick answer and move on. The same is true when I'm teaching an astrology class and someone asks the question.

I have been studying Vedic sciences for more than 25 years. I started a regular meditation practice in 1983 and have been studying yoga, astrology and Eastern mysticism for most of my life. Not only have I read about these practices, I've been living them for 25 years.
