The body part associated with tenth house is the knee and front of the thigh. This part of the body shows both support and constant motion. These things together allow us to handle pressure and move/adapt to what comes our way as well. Yet, it is very fragile and complicated part of the body. One wrong move can undo the entire structure.

Tenth house people: Your boss, the president, your father (as an authority with power), leaders, powerful people.

Activities: Leading, doing your job/duty, meeting your obligations regardless of how you feel about them, handling public pressure, delegating tasks to others, giving a presentation, enduring public discord/disgrace.

Environment: The workplace, the public eye, the government, places of business and finance, banks, the center of attention.

Objects: Your desk/office, your reputation, status symbols, assets, the praise or censure of others.

Planetary Indicators: The Sun and Saturn are the main planetary indicators for the 10th house. They are the main indicators of responsibility and handling pressure. The Sun takes responsibility because of all of the good we can accomplish with our power. Saturn takes responsibility to avoid difficulty in the future by building a powerful structure that will withstand the pressure of time.

General Explanation:
As following the Dharma Bhava, the tenth house will show the capacity of our teachings to affect the world. As the last artha house, the tenth house shows how our values can make a difference, and how we would like them to. It does not always translate into the career.
The tenth house is called the “karma house“. As karma literally translates into action, many see the tenth house as a house of action. Actually though, karma is the aggregate results of our past actions and how they are framing/of limiting the present. Karma, as we experience it, is something that has come to us in the present moment. It has been conferred upon us from the universe itself. Similar is the tenth house.

We have a certain amount of power to affect the world, based on our reputation and, our standing and the aggregate result of how much we have learned in life will and how much we think we deserve, etc. the penthouse shows our capacity to handle pressure and responsibility and our willingness to step into our highest duties, which should be based on our highest teachings if we are to be fulfilled.

The effects of planets in the tenth house:
The Sun in the tenth house brings a high capacity for duty, responsibility and handling pressure. If we are to make an impact, we need to be able to stand consistent, in our principles and indoor the jealousies and unpleasantness that comes with power. The Sun gives enormous potential in these areas.

The Moon in the tenth house shows emotional wavering undercutting our capacity for we will highest capacities. The Moon is not the part of us that wants to handle pressure, be responsible, etc. The Moon wants to feel good, and much of the work in the penthouse doesn’t necessarily feel good. Who we are beyond how we feel is the nature of the tenth house.

Mars the tenth house shows a lot of enthusiasm for making a difference, a big difference. There can be a lot of ambition with this placement however. One may squander their opportunities due to impatience. But Mars is willing to face the unpleasantness required to accomplish our goals. Often a person is very successful in their career with this placement. Hopefully it is also connected to something meaningful in our life, not just something they want to win.

Mercury in the tenth house brings a person’s skills into the area of life where they want to accomplish the most. There’s often good people skills aligned with higher goals and purposes shown by this placement. Also, one is able to adjust and be flexible to the changing tides of culture, conversation and anything else, as they try to make their mark.

Jupiter in the tenth house shows a person to be an excellent teacher and guide. A sense of righteousness and higher teachings will enhance the person’s reputation and sense of duty. This person is a natural leader, inspired and hopeful and ready to do what is best for all concerned when the chips are down. Their sense of vision and personal sacrifice gives others confidence in them, enhancing their reputation and status.

Venus in the tenth house shows a person’s reputation and standing in the world is related to things that are creative, artistic and even tied to their physical looks or sex appeal. There will be good manners and a gentle nature in dealing with people that helps persons excel in their career and helps them make their mark in the world. However, there may be an aversion to hard work and the desire for things to be enjoyable, that subverts their long-term intentions, making them unreliable and hurting their reputation over time.

Saturn in the tenth house is excellent for slow and steady, long-term gains and accomplishments. This placement brings a natural capacity to make a commitment to things, and be careful making wrong decisions that derail our course. Success in life occurs through repetition and going deeper into core values. Saturn supports all of these processes, but may make a person hesitant to adjust or be inflexible.

Rahu in the tenth house may show a person hypnotized by the idea of fame or popularity. There may be of sessions over making a mark in the world, regardless of how this market is made. A person may jump from one thing to the next, looking more for power, status and reputation, rather than any value in the duties being performed. There may also be high levels of greed with this placement. When more evolved, the person naturally senses what steps to take to increase their power and fulfill their goals.

Ketu in the tenth house often makes one have aversions to responsibility and duty. They understand the power game, and it holds little appeal to them. They may also be very critical of others in positions of authority, pointing out their flaws, but be secretly envious themselves. In those more developed, these skills with power and authority propel a person to great heights and may show enormous skill dealing with people, navigating responsibilities, etc.
