Saturday, November 15, 2008 – Gemini | Mragashira| 3 and 4 Tithi
The moon enters Gemini and the Nakshatra of Mrgashira today. Mrgashira is ruled by Mars and is called the “wandering Star”. There will be a restless, searching quality today. This Nakshatra is symbolized by the head of a deer. If you imagine the temperament of a deer you can get great insight into this Nakshatra. There’s a sort of innocent timid quality and a desire for peace found in this Nakshatra. The Vedic deity associated with this section of sky is the God Soma, the God of the Moon himself. Actually, Soma is also the name of the immortal nectar. The immortal nectar is within your mind and drips down from the seat of consciousness when you are aligned with the beauty and harmony of life. That is the deeper lesson here. The vitality and innocence of Mars propels us forward on the quest. This is very much about the search for the holy Grail within your mind, but also the disappointment with the world and other people that you must overcome. Reclaim that innocent mind where you have no preconceptions.
This Nakshatra shows the quality of Gemini that is related to playfulness, experimentation, and a sense and exploring new ideas. These will be prominent themes for the next couple of days and dominant themes over this weekend. Now is a good time to explore your creative passions, especially as they relate to your ideals and that innocent part of you that still has hope in a better world and your blissful participation in it.
We will be predominantly under the influence of the fourth lunar Tithi – but the third will also be present earlier in the day. The 4th is a sharp and severe lunar phase related to the God Yama – the god of death. Thus, later in the day there will be a theme of endings and a certain wisdom that things need to be settled appropriately. Earlier in the day, during the third lunar phase – Lord Vishnu, the preserver is predominant.

Sunday-November 16, 2008 – Gemini | Ardra | 4th and 5th Tithi
The Moon is still in Gemini today, but in the Nakshatra of Ardra, ruled by the Lord Rudra — who was the Vedic precursor to Lord Shiva, the fierce Hindu god of destruction and dissolution. After yesterday’s search for Idyllic beauty, today we have the shattering of those illusions and the need to transform back into the power from which they came. Whereas yesterday Mragashira was the deer innocently wandering in the forest in search of the divine, Ardra is the Hunter who shoots the deer and kills him. This sounds harsh, but the liberation of the sacrificed animal is what is being expressed here. If we are to ascend to our divine quality, we must sacrifice the frightened little animal with us who is still searching for worldly pleasure to be ultimately fulfilling. That is today’s lesson.
We bring forth our dreams and delusions into the world and cling to them with fear. We must sacrifice them to the greater truth, they must be destroyed. Today, they are sacrificed on the altar of truth. Be careful defending your principles too strongly today. This is a very severe Nakshatra and perhaps the most destructive in the zodiac.
We will be under the influence of the fourth and fifth lunar Tithi today. The first part of the day there will be much more capacity for harshness and difficulty. The second half of the day however, once the fifth Tithi starts, there will be much more of a favorable influence. This lunar day is ruled by the moon herself which shows favorable results are possible through maternal activities especially. Administering medicines, giving comfort in being creative are supported. Surrounding yourself with those who you can nurture and care for (and who can return the same) is a major part of getting the most out of today.

I like the detail of your weekly video forecasts. I like the fact that you’re not limited to the 10-minute Youtube time.

BTW, I get a different sense of you from the written vs. the recorded forecasts: I get the focus of your forecasts from what you write. I get your sense of humor and personality from what you say. I like reading first (usually sometime during the day), then I listen later when I have the time (usually at night). I like both.
I feel that you have a real experiential grasp of the Nakshatras which is not available in the books I have seen. Your knowledge of the mythology as evolving thru the nakshatras is new to me and very organic. You hit the mark often.
Who was your teacher? How did you get this experiential grasp? Must be from long years of working with charts.
Sometime I would like to see your chart. Strong mercury, with saturn perhaps. Strong Jupiter, intuitive and humble. Earth(virgo)and air in nice balance. A good moon. Anyway thanks so much

Thanks for that. Being forarmed is forwarned. It is certainly helpful knowing what the energies are going to be like for the week ahead. So thank you very much for the time and effort you put into this. You are clearly very very dedicated and hardworking. An example to alot of people. (especially me!!). And as for Madonna. Ha ha. She’s moving back to States having grown tired of her English fad. You guys can have her. She (apparently) is converting to Hinduism, (no doubt to assist her in breaking the huge Indian market). Marilyn Manson sings the line “I shed my skin to feed to fake”. It should have been her.
